The terms of working together.

These cover the services described on this site. Anything we agree in writing for a specific project takes precedence over what is here.

What I provide

Independent fireplace design and project coordination: assessment, product specification, drawings and written requirements, and—at the coordination level—procurement and scheduling on your behalf. I do not perform installations. Installation is carried out by licensed installers.

Fees

Prices on this site are for a single fireplace unless stated otherwise. Additional fireplaces in the same home are priced as add-ons. Project coordination starts at $2,500 and is quoted once the design is complete and the scope is known. Introductory pricing is exactly that—introductory—and may change for projects booked later.

What the deliverables are and aren’t

The Fireplace Project Brief, drawings, and written requirements are design and planning documents. They are not stamped engineering drawings, and they do not replace a permit, an inspection, or the judgement of your installer, builder, or local authority. Final responsibility for code compliance and safe installation rests with the installing contractor and the authority having jurisdiction.

Information you provide

My recommendations depend on what I can measure and what you tell me. If conditions are concealed, inaccurate, or change after the assessment, the plan may need to change with them.

Scheduling and cancellation

Consultations are booked through the calendar on this site. Let me know as early as you can if you need to move or cancel a visit, and I will do the same.

Limits

My liability for any claim arising out of the services is limited to the fees you paid me for the service that the claim concerns.
